Stuck indoors? Here are some rainy day activities in Palm Beach County

Rain, rain, go away! It’s been raining for days and yes, there’s more to come. The wet stuff is likely to be with us through Memorial Day weekend and then some. So, if you’re looking for unique things to do when it’s pouring outside, we’ve got you.

Here are some of our favorite rainy day activities in Palm Beach County:

TAKE THE KIDS SOUTH FLORIDA SCIENCE CENTER

The Science Center is the perfect place for kids. The newest exhibit features special brick building programs with LEGOs. Parents and children can work together to build motorized LEGO models that move through all kinds of terrain, including mountains, jungles and deserts. Also part of the exhibit is a photograph­y booth to capture your creations.

Info: General admission is $16.95 for adults; $14.95 for seniors; $12.95 for children 3 to 12 years old; children under 3 are free.

MONKEY JOE’S

Kids can bounce for hours in this indoor playground in Lake Worth. There are wall-to-wall inflatable slides, jumps and an obstacle course. Plus, there’s a small arcade for the kids to enjoy. Make sure to bring socks, which are required to be worn in all the play areas.

RHYTHM & HUES

Let your kids be creative in this newly opened art and music center in West Palm Beach. The space is geared toward toddlers and elementary school-aged children and provides music, art and painting classes.

SCHOOLHOUS­E CHILDREN’S MUSEUM & LEARNING CENTER

The Schoolhous­e Children’s Museum & Learning Center in Boynton Beach has two floors of hands-on, interactiv­e exhibits and many other educationa­l programs. It’s a fun place to take smaller kids and toddlers — there aren’t many things for older children to enjoy.

Info: Admission is $5 for children and adults. Kids under the age of 1 are free.

HAPPY PLACE KID’S GYM

Happy Place Kid’s Gym is an indoor play center where kids will enjoy swinging, climbing, zip lining and more.

Info: Admission is $10 per child ages 1 through 10. Socks are required.

FUN FOR EVERYONE PALM BEACH ZOO

For those who don’t mind getting a little wet, the Palm Beach Zoo offers a rainy day discount of 50 percent off its regular admission. Make sure to like and follow the zoo on Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date on the promotion. Once it’s determined that a rainy day is occurring, a datespecif­ic coupon will be posted

on the Palm Beach Zoo’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.

FUN DEPOT

There are lots of activities for kids and adults to enjoy in this amusement center in Lake Worth. The place features a huge arcade, go-karts and laser tag. Single go-kart drivers must be at least 54 inches tall to ride.

SILVERBALL MUSEUM

This isn’t your typical museum, the Silverball Museum is interactiv­e with classic pinball machines and arcade games that date as far back as the 1930s. Plus, there’s also original Coney Island SkeeBall, shuffle boards and a restaurant with a full bar.

Info: All games are set to free play with an entry pass.

The passes start at $7.50 for a half-hour of play.

LET’S GET PHYSICAL RECREATION CENTERS

Pick up a game of basketball and other indoor activities at one of the many recreation and community centers in the county. Check the Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation website for a list of centers.

PLANET AIR

Although this spot is not in Palm Beach County, it’s worth the drive. Planet Air is a trampoline park in Pompano Beach that also offers rope courses with zip line, climbing walls, a triple jump bungee trampoline, a vertical drop slide, an arcade room, aeroball (which combines basketball and a trampoline) and a toddler’s playground.

Info: Prices for the trampoline park start at $20, which

CHILL OUT THE BOOK CELLAR

You can definitely zen out in this new independen­t book store in downtown Lake Worth. The spot is also a coffee shop and wine bar. The store has about 30 book sections, which includes beach reads, staff favorites, historical fiction, classics, nonfiction.

MATHEWS BREWING

Kick back and chill out at Lake Worth’s new brewery. The spot offers live music, brewery tours and, of course, fresh beers straight from the tanks to your hands.

WEST PALM BREWERY

At West Palm’s newest brewery, you can choose from any number of craft beers: porters, blondes or IPAs. What’s cool about this place is they also serve finger-licking offerings, from a Neapolitan pizza bar to a variety of small plates, thincrust pies, flatbreads, pressed paninis and salads.

GET OUT OF TOWN TAKE A TRAIN RIDE

It’s too rainy to drive far, so jump on Brightline for a trip out of town. The new train offers stops from West Palm to Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
