SunPass Plus parking is suspended at PBIA
State DOT altering tech services; work to last until June 11.
WEST PALM BEACH — SunPass Plus parking at Palm Beach International Airport will be suspended starting today while the Florida Department of Transportation alters its internet-technology services, airport authorities said Tuesday.
SunPass’ IT connection system will be down while the state updates its customer service center next week. PBIA is shutting its SunPass Plus entry lanes six days early to minimize the number of customers in the lot when SunPass begins its scheduled maintenance, said Michael Simmons, the airport’s director of finance and administration.
Cars with SunPass Plus can normally pay for airport parking with the toll account at five airports: Palm Beach, Tampa, Miami, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood.
PBIA travelers who parked through SunPass Plus before the service is suspended will be able to complete their transaction through an attendant, Simmons said.
New parking customers will have the option to pay with a credit card or cash at a self-service kiosk or with a parking attendant, he said.
Work on the SunPass IT system will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday and last until 9 a.m. June 11, Simmons said.
Other services will be affected during that time, including the SunPass website and phone app, activation kiosks, account updates and replenishment, walk-in centers and the TOLL-BYPLATE website, according to SunPass.
People who buy SunPass transponders also will not be able to activate them during the outage.
