Summer dining deals to lure locals for dinner
The summer dining-deal spree has begun. It’s the most tempting part of the off-season, when restaurants offer all kinds of specials, from affordable prix fixe menus to catchy (and cheap) themed nights.
Here’s a hearty batch of them. We’ll update this list as new, must-have specials come up.

Mussels and more at Chez L’Epicier
It’s no wonder that this stylish French-Canadian restaurant is often packed on Thursday nights during summer — loyal diners know all about Chez L’Epicier’s mussels-and-frites night. For $25 per person, you get all the Prince Edward Island mussels and french fries you can eat.
Chef Laurent Godbout serves the mussels with your choice of five flavorful sauces, from coconut milk and curry to white wine, shallot and garlic.
Other Chez deals: Friday is tartare night when diners can choose from appetizer- or entréesized flights of chopped tartares of tuna, salmon, beef, beet, avocado and tomato. Prices range from $12 to $36.
Early bird specials here mean 50 percent off all entrées from 5 to 6 p.m.
A three-course summer prix fixe deal is offered for $36 per person.
All specials run through Oct. 31. Summer hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 4:30 to 10 p.m.

Kids eat free most days at Rapoport restaurants
At Deck 84 in downtown Delray, kids ages 12 and younger eat free at lunch or dinner Monday through Thursday with the purchase of any adult entrée (one child’s meal per one adult’s meal). Deck 84: 840 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach
At Burt & Max’s in suburban Delray, the little ones (12 and younger) dine free daily when an adult entrée is purchased (per child). Burt & Max’s: 9089 W. Atlantic Ave. (Delray Marketplace), Delray Beach

Half-price oysters, wine at Avocado Grill
The deals happen early in the week at chef Julien Gremaud’s Avocado Grill restaurants in downtown West Palm and Palm Beach Gardens.
On Mondays, they serve half-price oysters all day. On Tuesdays, wines are half the usual price.

Southern summer at The Regional
Chef Lindsay Autry will not only share her native North Carolina-style ‘cue this summer, she’ll share her kitchen at The Regional Kitchen & Public House.
Pig Pickin’ Tuesdays kicked off on Tuesday. This is when The Regional does North Carolina-style barbecue roast pig with classic sides.
On Pot Luck Wednesdays, which will be held monthly (dates to be announced), Autry hosts a lineup of top local guest chefs on The Regional’s patio. Expect to see Buccan’s Clay Conley, Coolinary Café’s Tim Lipman and PB Catch’s Aaron Black.
Sunday Supper happens on July 29 and features visiting Southern chef and author Virginia Willis. She’ll be cooking from her new cookbook, “Secrets of the Southern Table.”

Summer tastes at Table 26
This stylish American bistro is greeting summer by offering early evening diners 50 percent off all entrées every night from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The “Summer Tastes” special runs through Oct. 31.
And during regular dinner service on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, all bottles of wine are reduced in price by 26 percent.

50 Ocean’s special menus
Here’s a Delray Beach restaurant offering nice prices in addition to picture-perfect ocean views. 50 Ocean’s special prix fixe menus are $19 per person at lunch for two courses and $39 at dinner for three courses.

Kitchen’s threecourse menu
Chef Matthew Byrne’s Kitchen has rolled out a special $40 three-course menu that includes a glass of wine. The prix fixe menu began on June 1. During summer, Kitchen is closed Sunday and Monday.

Go Mediterranean at Ouzo Bay
This Greek-inspired restaurant is serving a Mediterranean prix fixe menu, $29 for three courses. The special twilight menu at Ouzo Bay is offered from 4 to 6:30 p.m. through the end of summer.

Josie’s summer discount
At Josie’s Ristorante, diners get 20 percent off their check (all of it) through summer. That special runs Sunday through Thursday.
Summer Mondays feature $2 meatballs with fresh ricotta, $2.50 meatball-provolone sliders and half-price martinis. Mondays and Tuesdays, Josie’s offers 16-inch, one-topping pizzas at $10.99.

Basque’s rainy-day deals
Here’s a summer special after South Florida’s heart: If it rains, you get tapas and drinks for half the price. Basque, the charming new Spanish spot at the Hotel Biba in West Palm, calls it the “When it Rains, We Pour” deal.

Steak Sunday at Meat Market Palm Beach
Chef Sean Brasel’s fancy Palm Beach steakhouse offers a $39 three-course twilight menu during summer, from Monday through Friday, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Also, the chef ’s popular “Signature Steak Sunday” special is back. Through the end of summer, diners get any of the restaurant’s signature steaks for half-price. Steaks can be ordered as full or half portions.

PB Catch’s BOGO deal
This seafood-centric restaurant offers a good deal for diners who arrive and order before 6:30 p.m.: Buy one entrée and get one free. This includes PB Catch’s signature dishes such as cioppino, Maine lobster and Chilean sea bass.

Pistache’s Monday mussels
During summer, Monday nights at downtown West Palm’s favorite French bistro is all about all-you-caneat mussels (with entrée purchase).

Summer menu at 1000 NORTH
Perched on the Jupiter waterfront, 1000 NORTH, the restaurant co-owned by some local sports legends (Michael Jordan and Ernie Els among them) is serving a special three-course summer menu for $49 per person.
Starters include a chilled jumbo shrimp with cocktail and remoulade sauces and Charleston she-crab soup. Entrée options include Dijoncrusted prime rib, grilled local fish and N.Y. strip steak. For dessert, there’s cobbler or berries and sorbet.
The 1000 NORTH summer menu is offered Sunday through Thursday during the off-season.
