Public Hearing Notice Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners
Please take notice that at 9:30 a.m. on July 10, 2018, in the Robert Weisman Palm Beach County Governmental Center, Jane Thompson Memorial Chambers, 6th floor, 301 N. Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida, the Board of County Commissioners intends to hold a public hearing for the purpose of considering: Approving the use of the Uniform Method of collecting non-ad valorem special assessments provided for in Chapter 197, Florida Statutes, pursuant to the Notice of Intent adopted by Resolution 97-2152 and Resolution 2011-1833. Palm Beach County, Florida, more particularly described in Section 7.50, Florida Statutes. More particularly, the real property subject to use of the Uniform Method of Collecting non-ad valorem special assessments is that real property subject to direct billing for collection of special assessments for “improvement projects,” as that term is defined in Resolution 97-2152 , and for the abatement of nuisance conditions as provided for in Resolution 2011-1833. The proposed schedule of the special assessment is that amount required to amortize the special assessment for each parcel of assessed real property, subject to such special assessment. The special assessment for “improvement projects” and the abatement of nuisance conditions will be collected annually by the Palm Beach County Tax Collector through the property tax bill. All interested persons are invited to attend said Public Hearing. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by this Commission with respect to any matter considered at this Meeting or Hearing, he/she will need a record of the proceedings, and that for such purpose, he she may need to insure that a verbatim record of the Meeting is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Written objections should be filed with the Board of County Commissioners within 20 days of the publication of this notice.
