Expect many lane closures in West Palm
Construction, utility work could bring traffic headaches.
WEST PALM BEACH — Summer construction is in full swing throughout Palm Beach County, notably in downtown West Palm Beach.
According to Kathleen Walters, director of communications for West Palm Beach, the work on Forest Hill Boulevard near Dixie Highway is scheduled to conclude Tuesday. Also in West Palm Beach:
■ The right-turn lane on eastbound Southern Boulevard, between Washington Road and Flagler Drive, will be closed from Monday through Friday because of FPL utility work.
■ Several roads will be periodically closed next week, including Belvedere Road heading westbound, from North Florida Mango Road to Mercer Avenue, which will have lanes closed while the county does underground utility work in the area. Australian Avenue will also have periodic lane closures for water valve replacement and driveway and media installation.
■ The City of West Palm Beach will be closing the 300 block of Clematis Street between South Olive Avenue and South Dixie Highway because of construction for the Clematis Streetscape Project, scheduled to last through October. The road will remain open for pedestrians and businesses.
Clematis Street at Centennial Square, between Narcissus Avenue and Flagler Drive, will also be closed Thursday from 6-9 p.m. for Clematis by Night.
Elsewhere in Palm Beach County, construction projects along I-95 interchanges will be taking place from Hillsboro Boulevard to Southwest 10th Street, from south of Southwest 10th Street to south of Glades Road, at Spanish River Boulevard, at Woolbright Road, at Hypoluxo Road, at 10th Avenue North and at Donald Ross Road.
