What was the highlight of your season? During the Jupiter tournament when we played Viera and were coming off of the loss from Sarasota. I think that was the best game we played during the season. We held a strong defense and our offense was outstanding. I personally had 14 strikeouts on the mound, and went 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple and a double.
When did you first start playing softball? At 10 years old. I started much later than my peers, who started around 6-8 years old. I had a lot of catching up to do to get to the playing level of everyone else.
Why did you pick the University of Florida to continue your playing career? It has always been my dream school. Before I was even playing softball, I dreamed of going to UF. Since I started playing softball much older than everyone else, I knew that there was a slim chance that I would ever get recruited by such a prestigious program. I am forever grateful that they are giving me the opportunity to play with one of the top programs in the nation.
Who is the athlete you most admire? Tom Brady was never the biggest, strongest, best football player, but he never gave up and never let anyone tell him that he can’t do anything he set his mind to, and he has become one of the most successful players ever. That’s what I strive to do.
What is the song that gets you pumped up before a game? “The Champion,” by Carrie Underwood. Her lyrics really speak to me, and I feel every word that she is saying.
What was your favorite movie of the past year? The Kingsman film series.
What is your favorite social media tool? Twitter, because there is a variety of things to see from Gators softball to funny videos.
