JUPITER I-95 ROAD WORK SHOULD END BY FALL
Projects continue around Donald Ross, Indiantown roads.
JUPITER — Two construction projects on Interstate 95 in Jupiter are expected to be wrapped up soon, but until then, residents can expect continued road closures.
The first project is a half mile of construction on the I-95 interchange at Donald Ross Road. It’s being done to widen the north and south exit ramps onto Donald Ross, so there are triple right and left turning lanes for people going eastbound on the road. A third lane also will be added to the southbound I-95 entrance ramp from Donald Ross Road, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
Until the construction is complete, Donald Ross Road from 54th Way North to Heights Boulevard will have two lanes closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., FDOT said.
Construction on Donald Ross Road started in April 2016 and is one of the five interchange projects throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties. The projects cost about $32.5 million and are expected to be done this summer, according to FDOT.
Other improvements include utility relocation, installation of barrier walls, curbs, sidewalks, guardrail, drainage, overhead signs, signing and pavement markings, signals, lighting and retaining walls, according to FDOT.
The second project in Jupiter is the resurfacing of I-95 from south of Indiantown Road to north of Bridge Road in Martin County. The interchange ramps at Indiantown Road and Bridge Road also will be resurfaced. Minor shoulder and guardrail repairs are planned.
Two southbound lanes are expected to be closed on I-95 from Indiantown Road to Bridge Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday, FDOT said.
Construction on this project started in May 2017 and is expected to be complete by this fall. The 10-mile project cost a little over $17 million, according to FDOT.
