FIVE NEW BUSINESSES OPEN IN SIMS CREEK PLAZA

JUPITER — Sims Creek Plaza on Indiantown Road in Jupiter is getting a total renovation, starting with the building that used to be the iconic Nick’s Tomatoe Pie.

Nick’s closed last year, and the 8,000-square-foot building is being gutted so three new businesses can move in.

Bolay, Blaze Pizza and MD Now Urgent Care should open in the space by the end of the year or early 2019, said Alex Karas, the leasing director for Janoura Realty & Management.

Nick’s Tomatoe Pie was a 25-year tradition for Italian food in north county. The owner, Nick Chiantese, was planning to reopen the restaurant about 100 feet away where the Hobby Shop sits in the plaza, but the plans were reportedly abandoned.

Now, new tenants are taking over the plaza.

Cookie Cutters, a kids hair salon, opened its doors on April 23 and sits in the storefront right behind where Nick’s was. Next door, a Lindburgers is expected to move into the four vacant bays. The gourmet burger joint should open by the end of the year, Karas said.

While residents might have to wait for pizza and burgers, they won’t have to wait much longer for mac and cheese. I Heart Mac & Cheese, the chain restaurant based in Fort Lauderdale, is expected to open its seventh location in Jupiter on July 30. Its other Palm Beach County location is in Boca.
