Nearly 30 states are seeing a jump in gas prices, but Florida isn’t one of them.

Despite the highest Fourth of July gas prices since 2014, it looks like the Sunshine State is actually one of the dozen states that saw a slight drop in prices. And some gas stations in Palm Beach County actually have prices below the national average of $2.86, according to the motorist group AAA.

The national gas price average is 6 cents cheaper than last month but still 61 cents higher than this time last year, AAA said.

How does Palm Beach County compare to the rest of the state? Residents are paying about 10 cents more than fellow Floridians. The state’s average was $2.71 per gallon as of Tuesday, says AAA.

“Demand for gasoline this summer remains very strong week-over-week, driving gas prices higher alongside rising crude prices,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokeswoman. “Today motorists are seeing gas for $2.76 or more at 56 percent of gas stations across the country.”

In a week, states like Delaware saw an increase of 8 cents, but Florida is down 1 cent this week and 9 cents compared with last month, AAA said.

In West Palm Beach, the cheapest price on Tuesday was $2.62 per gallon at five gas stations, including the Sunoco on Forest Hill Boulevard at Florida Mango Road, 7-Eleven on South Congress Avenue at Summit Boulevard, 7-Eleven on South Military Trail at Forest Hill Boulevard, Cumberland Farms on Cresthaven Boulevard at South Military Trail, and 7-Eleven on South Congress Avenue at Forest Hill Boulevard. The highest price was $2.64 at the 7-Eleven and Sunoco stations on North Australian Avenue, according to price tracker GasBuddy.

In Jupiter, the cheapest gas, $2.77 per gallon, can be found at the Circle K on West Indiantown Road at Orange Road. The highest was $2.99 per gallon at the Shell on West Indiantown Road at 68th Terrace North.

In Wellington, the Marathon on State Road 7 near Pierson Road and the Shell on SR 7 near Southern Boulevard had the cheapest gas at $2.69 per gallon. The Chevron at Greenview Shores Boulevard and Wellington Trace had the highest at $3.05 per gallon.

In Boca Raton, the lowest price was $2.65 per gallon at the Costco on Congress Avenue near Clint Moore Road, and the highest was $2.99 per gallon at the Marathon on Hampton Drive at Kimberly Boulevard.
