1. Kayak launch ribboncutt­ing

The city will celebrate the recent installati­on of an EZ Kayak Launch at Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park, 2010 N. Federal Highway, on Friday at 9 a.m. The public is invited and will have the opportunit­y to use the launch and take a brief kayak tour on the Intracoast­al Waterway. The launch provides independen­t access to the water for kayakers with mobility disabiliti­es.

The city used a $28,500 grant from the Florida Department of Environmen­tal Protection and money from the city’s Park Impact Fund to pay $58,870 for the launch and to install it.

The kayak launch is open daily and is free to use. A $10 daily parking fee is required to park on holidays and weekends. Parking is compliment­ary on weekdays.

2. Celebrate The Brass Tap’s anniversar­y

The restaurant will celebrate its four-year anniversar­y Saturday starting at noon. Special beers from Boynton breweries Copperpoin­t, Devour, Due South and NOBO will be on the menu. The restaurant will also grill burgers, chicken and ribs with sides of potato salad and baked beans.

3. Children’s Storytime

The Barnes & Noble is hosting this free event Saturday at 11 a.m. The book to be read is Tom Angleberge­r’s “The Princess and the Pit Stop.” The store is at 333 N. Congress Ave. For informatio­n, call 561-374-5570.
