Off the Jensen Beach area, there has been a good bite on mutton snapper. They are hitting on dead sardines and grunt plugs. The hot spot right now is the ledge off the Loran Tower in 60 to 70 feet of water.

The gag grouper bite has also been good with the best area being around 6-mile reef.

There are still a few cobia around and many are being caught right off the beach.

Off Jupiter, the dolphin bite has been farther out than normal. Though there are some schoolies, there are also fish in the 10- to 15-pound range being taken in 900 to 1,000 feet of water. There are weed patches out there and the key has been targeting the larger ones. If fishing during the heat of the day, the fish may be staying deeper in the water column where it’s cooler. A Butterfly Jig dropped down to 100 feet and then jigged back to the surface can produce good results.

Though it’s been a bit scattered, there have been some king mackerel around. The south side of the Juno Pier, in 95 feet of water has been a good area recently.

Anglers bottom fishing for snapper are having good luck fishing the inshore reef in 70 feet. They are catching yellowtails and some muttons. Dead sardines, squid chunks and bonito strips are working well.

Off Boynton Beach, anglers are catching dolphin in 650 to 1,200 feet of water along the many weed patches in the area. Those using small trolling feathers or casting small strip baits are having good luck. Though many of the fish are undersized, there are some 4- to 6-pound fish in the mix.

There has been a decent sailfish bite in the late afternoon in 75 to 125 feet of water. They are moving in to feed on the large schools of ballyhoo around the reefs and are being caught on drifted sardines.

African pompano and black grouper in the 30-pound range are hanging around the deep reef ledges and wrecks located in 90 to 115 feet of water. They have been hitting large drifted sardines using 1-ounce knocker rigs.

North of the Boynton Inlet, in 125 to 175 feet, anglers have caught mutton snapper up to 10 pounds.

The king mackerel bite remains scattered throughout the area. They are being caught as deep as 280 feet on vertical jigs and as shallow as 30 feet using slow-trolled deep-diving plugs. Drifted sardines and any kind of live bait are also producing.

Cero mackerel and yellowtail snapper are hitting jigs tipped with squid in 50 to 75 feet of water.

Mangrove and lane snapper are hitting at night using sardine or squid chunks fished on the bottom in 80 feet of water at night.
