SAXTON, Catherine P.
Catherine P. Saxton, Chairman of The Saxton Group Limited, the public relations and special events firm she founded, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2018. Formerly of New York City, Ms. Saxton had been a resident of West Palm Beach for the past several years. English by birth, Ms. Saxton’s first special event was a Royal Film Performance with H.M. Queen Elizabeth II. For over 25 years, she created and managed major publicity events and marketing projects for individuals, companies and organizations worldwide. Among the projects and people she was involved with were the establishment of The Charles A. Lindbergh Fund, World War II ace General Jimmy Doolittle, and H.S.H. Princess Grace, among others. Other personalities the Saxton Group represented were Neil Armstrong, Ivanka Trump, Paris, Nicky, Rick and Kathy Hilton, Damon Dash, Monica Seles, hockey great Rod Gilbert, and Gina Lollobrigida and internationally renowned artist Josee Nadeau. Ms. Saxton worked with Donald and Ivana Trump during their marriage, and continued to handle Ivana’s publicity until very recently. Ms. Saxton also worked on several events for The Prince’s Trust, for HRH Prince Charles. Companies she represented included the Waldorf-Astoria, Peninsula, and Plaza hotels in New York, Sony, JPMorgan Chase, Warner Brothers, Hearst Magazines, and many others. Listed among the Who’s Who of American Women, Ms. Saxton served on numerous boards and committees through the years. Ms. Saxton’s legacy continues today in Palm Beach as her representation of Artist Josee Nadeau lead to the current Nadeau exhibit of large scale paintings depicting John and Jackie Kennedy, currently on display at the Palm Beach Maritime Museum, West Palm Beach. A funeral mass will take place at Saint Edward Church in Palm Beach, as well as a memorial service in New York City, later this year.
