DAVIE — Michael Marino, the son of Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Friday in Fort Lauderdale and charged with DUI.

Marino, 30, was stopped less than a half mile from his home while driving a 2016 Ford SUV. He had a blood alcohol level of .208 and .210, well past the legal limit of .08, according to the arrest report obtained by the Miami Herald.

He posted a $1,500 bond and entered not guilty pleas Tuesday to driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level higher than .15.

Michael Marino was diagnosed with autism as a young boy and was the inspiration for the nonprofit Dan Marino Foundation, established by Dan and his wife, Claire, in 1992.

Michael, an autism activist, is a professional D J and goes by the name “D J One Trey.” His father wore No. 13 during his 17-year NFL career, all with the Dolphins. Dan Marino now serves as a Dolphins adviser, a role he has held since 2014. He is a member of the Pro Football and College Football halls of fame.

A Fort Lauderdale officer noticed Marino run a stop sign while turning east on Broward Boulevard off Southwest First Avenue, according to the arrest report. Marino headed north on Andrews Avenue, causing two cars going west on Broward Boulevard “to brake suddenly and hard to avoid a traffic crash.”

The officer wrote he “immediately noticed Marino had bloodshot, glassy eyes and an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person and the interior of the vehicle,” after stopping him on Northeast First Avenue. According to the officer, Marino was “slow to react or respond to any questions” and described his speech as slurred and said he was wobbly when he got out of the SUV.

After failing the field DUI test the report says Marino refused to do further field tests.

Fins add veteran DE: The Dolphins are bringing back a memorable name from their past by adding defensive end Kendall Langford to their preseason roster.

Langford, a starter for Miami from 2008-11, signed as a free agent late Tuesday and will compete for a job on the defensive line. Last season, he spent several weeks with the Saints and about a month with the Texans, appearing in one game for Houston.

His last productive season was 2015, when he started every game for the Colts and had a career-high seven sacks. He made it through seven games the following year before going on injured reserve with a knee injury.

In his four years with the Dolphins, he registered 7.5 sacks, 141 tackles and four forced fumbles in 64 games. He played three seasons for the Rams before re-emerging with a big season in Indianapolis.

Langford, now 32, was the Dolphins’ third-round draft pick out of Hampton (No. 66 overall) in 2008.

Miami had an open roster spot after waiving defensive tackle Gabe Wright following his cheap shot on running back Kenyan Drake in Monday’s practice.

Teams don’t need to cut rosters to 53 until the end of August, but with Miami already heading into its second preseason game this week, Langford doesn’t have much time to prove he belongs. It would be highly unlikely for him to play Friday at Carolina, leaving two games to show he can still play at an NFL level.

The Dolphins typically carry 5-6 defensive ends on the active roster and currently have 10 with the addition of Langford. Cameron Wake and Robert Quinn are locked in as starters, followed by Andre Branch and Charles Harris.

Veteran William Hayes also figures to be in the rotation if healthy, but he’s missed extended time this month because of a hamstring injury. Miami also has Cameron Malveaux back after he earned his way off the practice squad late last season.
