THINGS TO DO
Happening around West Palm Beach:
1. Kravis volunteers. In preparation for its 2018-2019 season, the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is seeking volunteers. New Volunteer Orientations will be held on Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. and Thursday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. Both events will be held in the Kravis Center’s Persson Hall.
There are volunteer opportunities as ushers, tour guides, and to work in hospitality, gift shop, data entry, the education department and the administrative offices. Anyone interested is encouraged to fill out the online application and bring it to the orientation program. If unable to attend, submit the application to Beth Foster, Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, 701 Okeechobee Blvd. The application is available at kravis.org/ volunteer.
2. Children’s Business Fair. The event will showcase kids’ entrepreneurial efforts, on Saturday, Aug. 25, 1-4 p.m., at United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches, 900 Brandywine Road.
At the fair, which is free and open to the public, up to 20 young entrepreneurs ages 6-16 will showcase and sell their wares.
Each child will create a product or service, develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. The children are responsible for setup, sales, and interacting with customers.
