Kick up your heels!
What the heck is a Hooley? If you’re Irish, you know: A Hooley is a party where the booze flows, patrons jig on tables and traditional Irish music keeps revelers on their feet.
The hopping-est Hooley in Florida is at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant in Disney Springs.
This year, The Great Irish Hooley runs Friday through Monday.
Some folks come for the food — Irish classics like fish and chips, plus the “Rack of Heaven” (killer ribs with a Guinness glaze). I come for the fun.
The bar here is an actual 130-year-old bar imported from Ireland. And even when the Hooley’s not happening, you’re treated to excellent Irish dancing and Celtic music.
If you hanker for the Hooley, prepare to get up on one of those bars yourself and kick up your heels.
The Great Irish Hooley kicks off performances by nine Irish bands and the new Raglan Road Irish Dance Troupe beginning at 3 p.m. Friday and continuing all day Saturday through late Monday, and into the wee hours.
