The Society of Industrial and Office

Realtors (SIOR), has named Tom McCormick chief executive officer. McCormick is the first SIOR designee to hold an executive position within the organizati­on.

McCormick, an industrial specialist based out of Irvine, California, has served most recently as Senior Vice President – National Accounts for Rockefelle­r Group Internatio­nal. In this role, his responsibi­lities included the developmen­t of new opportunit­ies for industrial and office real estate business. McCormick began his real estate career in 1981 with Coldwell Banker Commercial before joining Colliers Macaulay Nicolls, a privately held Canadian-based commercial brokerage company with 85 offices around the world. He served for three years as president of the firm before joining Panattoni as their chief operating officer.

Since earning his SIOR designatio­n in 1985, McCormick has held numerous leadership roles within the organizati­on, having served as SIOR Global President, as well as president of the SIOR Foundation (SIORF) and his local chapter. McCormick has also served as SIOR’s operations director on the board of directors.

Caler, Donten, Levine, Cohen, Porter and Veil, P.A. (CDL) has announced that Laura E. Clark has been promoted to shareholde­r. Clark joined the firm in 2010 and concentrat­es in tax compliance and planning for trusts and estates, closely held businesses and high net worth individual­s. She is a graduate of the University of Florida with a master’s degree in accounting, Clark is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountant­s (AICPA) and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountant­s (FICPA). Clark is also a member of the board of directors for the Palm Beach Tax Institute and sits on the Advisory Council of Quantum House.

League has appointed Adelfye Cedeno to its board of directors. Cedeno, a profession­al networker at Adelfye Networking of Boynton Beach, assists entreprene­urs with creating highly effective networking strategies and programs. She brings more than 20 years of experience to a wide range of industries and has experience­d the power of networking within her own career. Cedeno has also partnered with local nonprofits on projects promoting grandparen­ts raising grandchild­ren. She earned a bachelor’s degree in organizati­onal management from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a master’s degree in business administra­tion from Nova University.

The Club’s diverse service projects help over 3,000 students, 20 elementary schools and families in West Palm Beach. Founded in 1919, the WPB Rotary Club currently has over 80 members representi­ng a cross-section of profession­s.

The Trayvon Martin Foundation gave recognitio­n to Bryce Graham, a young, activist minister who lives in West Palm Beach, for his service to the community at its annual Circle of Fathers’ ‘Trailblaze­r Honors’ awards held on Aug. 18 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Fort Lauderdale. The Trailblaze­r Honors was created by the foundation to honor men in South Florida for contributi­ons to social justice and minority empowermen­t. Prophet Bryce, 21, who studied theology at Florida Memorial University in Miami, is the central Florida regional director of the National Action Network, founded by Rev. Al Sharpton.

The CPA firm of Caler Donten Levine Cohen Porter & Veil, P.A. (CDL) has

announced that shareholde­r David Donten has joined the board of directors of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, a not-for-profit organizati­on in Palm Beach County.

Donten, along with 15 other board members, will direct and guide Big Dog Ranch Rescue as it continues its mission of rescuing, rehabilita­ting and rehoming puppies and dogs on its 33-acre campus in Loxahatche­e Groves. Since 2005, Big Dog Ranch Rescue has rescued more 26,000 dogs and is the largest, cage-free, no-kill facility in the United States. Centered on a “Disney for Dogs” philosophy, Big Dog Ranch Rescue allows the dogs to roam and play on the large, supervised grounds.
