JUPITER — A Jupiter restaurant’s unique setting helped it land a spot on a Food Network show.

On Sunday, Justin Lindemann’s Food Yacht was showcased on “Food Boats,” which follows Chef Jordan Andino as he tracks the “new food craze” and tastes their small-kitchen creations.

Lindemann told The Palm Beach Post he wasn’t sure how producers found him, but he was ecstatic that he could be a part of the show. His segment took an all-day shoot in April, where he showed Andino two of his dishes.

He wanted to show off his jerk barbecue chicken burrito and lemon pepper seared tuna wrap, but producers instead wanted his shrimp BLT and Maryland crab cakes. He said he thinks the crew enjoyed the atmosphere of his six-seater restaurant, which anchors between the A1A and U.S. 1 bridges, and the “Bahamas-quality” water at high tide didn’t hurt, either.

Lindemann has owned his boat for about four years, but didn’t really go full time with Food Yacht until two years ago. There was a learning curve, like having limited electricity and water to cook with on a boat.

The show invites viewers to “learn about the challenges these chefs face when cranking out realdeal food on the high seas and what keeps their customers coming back for more,” Andino says in a promotional video. A restaurant in Naples and another in Panama City also were featured on the show.

Andino — who hosted the Cooking Channel’s “Late Nite Eats,” owns a New York City-based Filipino taqueria called Flip Sigi and was People Magazine’s 2017 “Sexiest Male Chef in America” — teased to the new show on his Twitter account in May.

“Make sure you tune into @ FoodNetwork this summer and find out where I travelled, what I ate, and the new food trend ‘floating’ into our stomachs and TV screens,” he wrote.

Lindemann and his family were all set to watch the episode at his mother’s house in DeLand on Sunday. About two minutes into the segment, the power went out.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” he thought.

While the congratulatory texts flooded in, he had to wait until Monday to watch the episode, which he had recorded.

“I was on Cloud 9,” he said.
