Photograph­ic Centre names show winners

Fatima NeJame, president and chief executive officer of the Palm Beach Photograph­ic Centre (PBPC), announced the prize winners of its current exhibition, 22nd annual Members’ Show, which is running through Oct. 27.

Members’ Show is a juried exhibition that showcases the work of its members, both inside the Photo Centre and on its website.

Best In Show went to EJ Morales from West Palm Beach for his photograph “Encounter.” Morales received the first place cash prize of $950.

The second place winner is Cynthia Conley, of West Palm Beach, for “I Wish I Were A Lion,” and third place went to Sheryl Kittrell, of Juno Beach, for “Chai Tea Time.” They both received free tuition for a FOTOfusion Passport or a Master Workshop.

The juror for the show was media industry leader and photojourn­alist Scott Mc Kiernan, who helped establish one of the world’s largest editorial photo news agencies, ZUMA Wire, which was launched in 1992 as the internet’s first database for editorial pictures.

Also on display now at the Photo Centre is The FOTOcamp Exhibition, showcasing works by young people ages 10 to 17, who participat­ed in the FOTOcamp for Kids program. This year’s FOTOcamp winner is Allison Robbert, 14, of Wellington, who received an SLR camera. Second place went to Jamie Jerchower, 15, of Wellington, and third place went to Stephanie Barnard, 16, of Boca Raton, both of whom received a free family membership to the Photo Centre.
