WEST PALM BEACH — A Riviera Beach man is being held without bond after he allegedly tried to kill his wife of 17 years twice in a week, according to arrest reports.

Tyrome Johson, 42, is facing more than a dozen felonies and is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.

Johnson allegedly tried to kill his wife Sept. 9 when he fired two gunshots at her outside the home they share on the 2300 block of Avenue M in Riviera Beach, near Blue Heron Boulevard and Australian Avenue, police said.

The shots did not strike the woman, but entered the home where four people, including two children, were inside. No one was hurt.

At about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Johnson allegedly tried to kill his 38-year-old wife again in the parking lot of the Quality Inn on Belvedere Road west of Interstate 95 in West Palm Beach.

According to West Palm Beach police, Johnson’s wife was pulling her car out of a parking spot with her adult brother in the passenger seat when Johnson approached on foot. Johnson allegedly fired one shot from a semi-automatic pistol into the car.

The woman and her brother ran out of the car and Johnson allegedly fired two more shots at her. One of the bullets struck the woman in her lower back, according to police.

“I’m dead!” she screamed after she was shot, the report said. She survived the wound.

Johnson also pointed his gun at the woman’s brother, but the gun did not fire, possibly because it jammed.

A West Palm Beach arrest report states that Johnson has six children with his wife.

After shooting his wife, Johnson drove around 10 miles to suburban Palm Beach Gardens where he shot a man and a woman around 10 a.m. in the 9200 block of Sun Court, north of Northlake Boulevard and east of Interstate 95, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff ’s Office.

One victim remains in critical condition and the second person is in stable condition, PBSO spokeswoman Teri Barbera said. They have not been identified.

It’s not known why Johnson shot the two people in suburban Palm Beach Gardens or whether that shooting was related to those involving his wife.

State records show that Johnson has served either jail or prison sentences five times since 1996 and has been convicted of 17 felonies, including aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, burglary and grand theft of a motor vehicle.

Jail records show that Johnson has been arrested in Palm Beach County at least 23 times since April 2001.
