1. Boynton Chamber Golf Tournament

The city will be hosting their 45th annual Chamber Golf Tournament on Friday at the Indian Spring County Club at 11501 El Clair Ranch Road. Registrati­on starts at 11:30 a.m., and the event will end at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and awards ceremony. Players will be provided with a box lunch and the option to win raffle prizes, enter contests for the longest drive, putting and hole-in-one. 2. Painting charity event for pet rescue center

Painting with a Twist, a social art studio in Boynton Beach, will be hosting a “Painting with a Purpose” charity event today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 2288 Congress Ave. Fifty percent of event proceeds will go to the RU4ME Pet Rescue. Locals can attend a “paint and sip” class instructed by local artists and also adopt kittens brought by the pet rescue. 3. Cooking classes for Girl Scouts

Palermo’s Bakery will be hosting its first set of culinary arts classes for Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 14 N. Congress Ave. Chef Anna Orlando, co-owner of the bakery, will teach a range of cooking skills from pastry decorating to creating authentic Italian appetizers. Subsequent classes will be held for the Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts, and the Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts, where each class is geared toward the age group.
