Man held in threat against high school
A Belle Glade man is being held on $205,000 bail after he allegedly threatened to shoot people at Glades Central Community High School and in the city of Belle Glade, according to an arrest report.
Jesus J. Rodriguez, 30, is facing charges of misusing the 911 system, filing a false report and threatening to harm a public servant.
The arrest report states Rodriguez phoned 911 and asked to be “patched into” his daughter, who the report refers to as a “teacher.”
After being told he was contacting a 911 line used only for emergency calls, Rodriguez allegedly said he was going to shoot up the school and the city, the report said.
Rodriguez was found in a home on the 500 block of NW 16th Street. In the presence of deputies, one man in the home told Rodriguez, “Why do you keep on making those phone calls[?]”
Rodriguez allegedly asked deputies, “Do you know about Parkland High School because I am not the [expletive] one,” the report said.
Deputies found Rodriguez’s phone inside the home and calls to 911 could be seen listed on the screen, the report said.
A message left with the Palm Beach County Schools District on Wednesday was not immediately returned.
Court records show Rodriguez was found guilty of possession of cocaine Sept. 24 and sentenced to 37 days served in jail and a one-year suspension of his driver’s license. Charges of domestic battery and criminal mischief over $1,000 were not pursued by the state attorney.
On Aug. 27, Rodriguez was found guilty of trespassing of an occupied structure and was sentenced to 45 days in the Palm Beach County Jail.
