Fratelli’s Italian Grill in Delray closed briefly
DELRAY BEACH — An Italian restaurant in Delray Beach and a Lantana meal prep company were closed temporarily last week after failing state inspections.
Fratelli’s Italian Grill was shut down Sept. 28 after inspectors with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation found live and dead roaches, improperly stored food and rodent droppings, among other violations, according to records.
Inspectors found a total of 24 violations, including six that were considered high-priority. Nine intermediate violations and nine basic violations also were found.
High-priority violations are those which could contribute directly to a food-borne illness or injury, and include items such as cooking, reheating, cooling and handwashing.
The eatery was shut down again Sept. 29 after six more violations were found, including one that was high-priority. It reopened later in the day.
Fuel for Fit in Lantana was closed Sept. 24 after state inspectors found a total of 11 violations, including four that were high-priority.
Violations included live insects, live and dead roaches and improperly stored food. The business was reopened later in the day.
Neither business returned calls seeking comment.
Four other Palm Beach County restaurants had perfect inspections last week. They are Meraki Juice Kitchen in Riviera Beach; Smokin’ Gator BBQ in West Palm Beach; Shadowood Stadium 16 in Boca Raton; and Jamill Tropical Juice and Coffee in Lake Worth.
