FAMILY FISHING CLASSIC AT JUPITER LIGHTHOUSE

A fishing and fund-raising event for wounded veterans and their families will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Jupiter Inlet Veterans Family Fishing Classic, at Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area at 500 Captain Armour’s Way, is in its fourth year.

Fishing equipment and lunch from Tommy Bahama will be provided to wounded veterans and their families. Organizers suggest families should bring a camera, sunscreen, sunglasses and breathable clothing.

FOOD TRUCK INVASION FRIDAY AT ABACOA

Ethelene Crockett Jones, chairwoman of the Florida League of Women Voters Speakers Bureau, will give a presentation at the Lifelong Learning Complex on Florida Atlantic University’s Jupiter campus Oct. 16 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Learn what a “yes” and “no” vote means on each proposal and organizers promise you won’t hear a mention of the names of people running for office.
