Jaguars’ Fournette ruled out vs. Dallas; Chiefs add LB help

-

The Jacksonville Jaguars have ruled out running back Leonard Fournette for their game at Dallas. It will be the fourth game Fournette has missed this season.

Coach Doug Marrone says Fournette (hamstring), left tackle Josh Wells (groin) and cornerback D.J. Hayden (toe) will miss Sunday’s road game. The Jaguars (3-2) signed veteran Jamaal Charles on Tuesday with the expectation that Fournette would be sidelined for an extended period. They also placed third-stringer Corey Grant (foot) on injured reserve.

■ Former Browns linebacker Nate Orchard was signed by the Chiefs to shore up their pass rush besieged by injuries. Justin Houston could miss several weeks after hurting his hamstring in Sunday’s win over Jacksonville while Dee Ford and Tanoh Kpassagnon have been dealing with nagging injuries.

■ Jets defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers briefly returned to the team’s facility, and coach Todd Bowles says there’s a “small chance” he coaches against the Colts on Sunday. Rodgers is dealing with what Bowles characterized last week as a “serious” illness. The 49-yearold assistant wasn’t with the team for its win over Denver.

College football: Embattled University of Wisconsin receiver Quintez Cephus is suing the school because he says a disciplinary probe it is conducting while he’s trying to defend himself in a criminal sexual assault case violates his rights because he can’t participate in it without potentially harming his criminal defense. Cephus was suspended from the Badgers in August after he was charged with sexually assaulting two drunken women. Cephus says the sex was consensual.

■ Two-time U.S. Open champion Retief Goosen and three-time major champ Jan Stephenson are among five people selected for induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame. A 16-member panel of mostly golf administrators also selected retired Augusta National chairman Billy Payne, LPGA charter member and renowned teacher Peggy Kirk Bell and Dennis Walters, who has been inspiring golfers through clinics despite being paralyzed from the chest down since he was 24. The induction is June 10.

Soccer: A massive corruption scandal engulfed Belgian soccer Wednesday as authorities carried out 57 police raids in the country and around Europe in a probe into financial fraud and match-fixing. MLB: Right-handed reliever Kyle Barraclough was acquired by Washington from Miami in exchange for $1 million in international slot allotment. Barraclough went 1-6 with 4.20 ERA and 10 saves in 17 chances in 2018.
