FRANKFURT, Germany — The offensive coordinator of the Dolphins, Frank Smith, watched Patrick Mahomes up close in four years with the Raiders and Chargers of the AFC West.
“You're flashing me back to a lot of bad moments,” Smith said this week of the Chiefs' dynamic quarterback.

Florida football players insist there's still plenty left to play for as the 2023 calendar turns to
November.
The Florida Gators (5-3, 3-2
SEC) can clinch bowl eligibility for a seventh straight season with a win over reeling Arkansas (2-6, 0-5 SEC).
Florida is looking to bounce back from a 43-20 loss to No. 1 Georgia in Jacksonville that put a severe dent in its SEC title hopes.
"We've been through adversity this season, but I don't feel like we should go about the season just moping around, just coming here just to be here," Florida defensive end Princely Umanmielen said. "I feel like we should still play like we have something to play for.
"We shouldn't put our heads down just because we took the loss that we took. We should still keep fighting for the rest of the season to try to win out."

He's also rushed for 3 TDs and thrown for multiple TDs in four straight games. Overall, Mertz's completion percentage ranks third nationally behind Oregon's Bo Nix (78.3 percent) and Michigan's J.J. McCarthy (78.1 percent).
