Updated playoffs odds for No. 1 seed and Super Bowl

- Joe Schad Palm Beach Post | USA TODAY NETWORK

MIAMI GARDENS — The Dolphins (11-4) won a huge game at home against the Cowboys (10-5) at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.

Miami is 11-4 for the first time in 33 years and has clinched a playoff spot.

And yet, with two games remaining in the regular season, at Baltimore (12-3) and at home against Buffalo (9-6) the Dolphins could enter the NFL playoffs anywhere between a No. 1 seed and a No. 6 seed in the AFC.

If Miami wins both games, it would secure the No. 1 seed and a bye.

If Miami wins only one of the games, it would claim the AFC East and host at least one game in the playoffs.

Here are the Dolphins’ current odds for each seed, courtesy of The New York Times:

No. 1: 24% (first-round bye)

No. 2: 51% (hosting No. 7)

No. 3: 2% (hosting No. 6)

No. 4: 0%

No. 5: 2%

No. 6: 20% (at No. 3)

No. 7: 0%

According to the Times, here are the Dolphins’ odds to:

Win the Super Bowl: 12%

Win the AFC East: 78%

What if Miami (+3) wins at Baltimore on Sunday?

The Dolphins would clinch the AFC East.

Odds of No. 1 seed climb to 62%. Odds of No. 2 seed climb to 38%.

The Dolphins would not play a road playoff game in Rounds 1 or 2.

What if Miami (+3) loses at Baltimore on Sunday?

The Dolphins’ odds to win the AFC East would slide to 63%.

Miami would need to beat Buffalo at home to win the AFC East (assuming the Bills beat the Patriots at home).

Odds of No. 1 seed fall to 0%.

Odds of No. 2 seed move to 62%. Odds of No. 6 seed climb to 31%.
