First-Team All-County Boys Soccer

-

Carmine Ricciardi, Boca Raton

Ricciardi allowed just 11 goals in 26 games, posting 18 shutouts and a state semifinals shootout victory. The junior was a steadfast presence in net, making a number of key saves in the state title game after posting an elite performance two nights prior when Boca Raton had to play at a two-man disadvantage for 30 minutes before winning in a penalty shootout.

Bryan Silva, Boca Raton

Silva was right behind teammate Christian Gonzalez in dominating the stat sheet with 13 goals and 12 assists. The talented senior shined brightest on the biggest stage, posting goal-scoring performances during the state semifinal and championship games for the Bobcats.

Ford Cash, Benjamin

Ford followed up a fantastic sophomore season with a junior campaign to remember. Despite trying to take a step back into midfield play as a facilitator, he still managed 23 goals and eight assists for the Class 3A Region 3 semifinalist Buccaneers.

Coach of the Year Hayden Mersereau, Boca Raton

The senior was a dominant defender all year, but his contributions were recognized even more than usual during a player-of-the-game performance in the state semifinal when Boca Raton had to survive 30 minutes of play down two men. Mersereau also tallied two goals and seven assists for the state-champion Bobcats.

Colin Bock, Royal Palm Beach

Bock ran the Royal Palm midfield with efficiency and a cool head, tallying seven goals and 17 assists for the Class 7A Region 3 semifinalists. Bock was instrumental in the Wildcats’ run as district champions, helping Royal Palm to a 19-3-1 record.

Ron-Elijah Pierre, Somerset-Canyons

Pierre tallied 13 goals and added seven assists for the Class 4A Region 4 semifinalists Somerset-Canyons. The Cougars’ forward helped lead Somerset to a perfect 10-0-2 home record.

Rafael Azevedo, Boca Raton

Referred to by coach Marcelo Castillo as the “engine” of the Boca Raton midfield, Azevedo lived up to that nickname, tallying six goals and 13 assists, working as an end-to-end, do-it-all midfielder for the state champion Bobcats.

Danny Rodriguez, Royal Palm Beach

Rodriguez topped the stat sheet for the 19-3-1 Wildcats with 19 goals and five assists. The senior shined in the final third for the Class 7A Region 3 semifinalists, helping his team to back-to-back district championships.

Chris Cano, Oxbridge Academy

Cano topped the stat sheet for Oxbridge this year, tallying 15 goals and 10 assists. The ThunderWolves’ junior averaged nearly a goal scored per game, helping Oxbridge to some regional redemption against Benjamin to advance to a regional final.
