Ambler Savings Bank Retail Officer, Erin Cohen, and Limerick BranchManager, Becky Dice, presented the Spring-Ford School District with a check for $5,000, which will be used to enhance the high school TV Studio.
In the 2015-16 school year, 140 students took the Broadcast class in the TV Studio at the high school. The class teaches studio production, which includes directing, technical directing and studio camera; and field production, which includes field shooting, and post production editing.
S t udent proje c t s throughout the year include studio shows, short films, stop motion animation, music videos and interviews. Students also produce a video year book of activities from the school year.
The money will be used to purchase new DSLR cameras for student use. Additional equipment, including lenses, extra batteries, audio equipment and mono pods for the new cameras, will also be purchased. The cameras are the same as those being used at the college level and in the broadcast field.
