Police investigate rape report

Collegeville Police and Chester County Detectives are currently investigating a six-month-old rape that was reported to them in June.

According to a press release from Collegeville Po- lice, officers are investigating a rape that took place in January near West Fourth Avenue and Chestnut Street in the borough. Police said the assault was reported on June 30 and that the identity of the suspect is unknown.

Police were unable to re- lease any further information at the time but are reminding residents to use safety precautions such as walking in pairs and in well-lit areas.
