‘The Boys Next Door’ opens at Forge Theatre Sept. 9

-

Forge Theatre presents a touching and poignant piece of theater, “The Boys Next Door,” beginning Sept. 9

“The Boys Next Door, written in the early 1980s by Tom Griffin, is a comedy-drama in two acts, set in New England, centered around four intellectually disabled men who live to- gether in a small apartment -- and Jack, their caring social worker who is on the verge of career burn-out.

The theme of the story is saying goodbye. The humor comes from the many situations in the home where the men and their individual quirks create friction toward each other. Each resident wields a talisman that helps him to feel secure. The show promises a wonderful night of laughs and tears. It runs Sept. 9, through Sept. 25 at Forge Theatre. 241 First Ave. in Phoenixville/
