PHOENIXVIL­LE 17, UPPER MERION 53

The Phantoms created a threeway tie for first place in the PAC’s Frontier Division as they outran the Vikings, joining Pope John Paul II and Pottsgrove in the top spot.

Christian Schaaf headed a 1-2-3 finish by Phoenixvil­le (4-1) in the regular-season finale, covering his home course in 17:55. Aaron Hin (18:13) and Connor Wilchusky (18-18) followed, with UM’s Abhiram Vagnola placing fourth in 18:24 as his team’s highest finisher.

VIKINGS WIN TWICE >> Perkiomen Valley completed an unbeaten run through the PAC’s Liberty Division by handling the Warriors (15-50) in a three-school meet that included North Penn. PV (50) outscored the Knights 25-32, who earned a split of the day’s action with their 15-50 win over Methacton.

The Vikes’ Annie Glodek warmed up for defense of her league championsh­ip finish in 2016 by covering the Methacton course in 18:37, eight seconds ahead of NP’s Ariana Gardizy (18:45). Anna Price was the Warriors’ first finisher, coming in 15th in 21:21. UPPER MERION 20, PHOENIXVIL­LE

47 >> Natalee Serwatka’s winning run was the highlight for the Phantoms as the Vikings took the next eight spots in the finishing order to run away with the PAC win.

Serwatka covered her home course in 20;33, well ahead of UM’s Morgan Morton (20:55). The only other runner for Phoenixvil­le (3-2) to crack the Top 10 against the Vikes (5-0) was Emma Visnov, 10th overall in 22:11.

2>> The Phantoms played the Vikings all even in their PAC contest on Oct. 13. Phoenixvil­le was to play a must-win game against Pottsgrove Friday to qualify for the PAC Final Four.

Goals for Phoenixvil­le were scored by Andre Souza, assisted by Phil Meszaros, and Tyler Siefer assisted by Andre Souza. Mitchell Coll contribute­d six saves to the Phantom outing. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 1, NORRIS

TOWN 0 >> Matt McCabe’s firsthalf goal proved enough for the Vikings to claim victory over the Eagles in PAC play on Oct. 11.

McCabe scored in the 31stminute, the assist going to Ryan Dao. Andrew Daubenspec­k needed to make only two stops in goal for his seventh shutout of the season, while Norristown’s Johan Morales turned away 15 shots. BOYERTOWN 3, PHOENIXVIL­LE 1 >> The Bears got goals from Sam Marks, Will Schul and Nik Verma (assist) as they won a PAC crossover matchup on Oct. 10. Jimmy Towers was credited with an assist for Boyertown (4-4 PAC Liberty, 7-4 PAC), which needs a winning final week of the regular season to qualify for the district playoffs.

The Phantoms (7-1 Frontier, 8-3 PAC) got a consolatio­n goal with under two minutes left on a penalty kick from Phil Meszaros. Phoenixvil­le keeper Mitchell Coll made six saves while Boyertown’s Connor McKeown stopped three.

PHOENIXVIL­LE 4, UPPER MERION 0

>> Gabrielle Perrotto netted a hat trick to spark the Phantoms in their PAC shutout of the Vikings as Phoenixvil­le clinched the Frontier Division championsh­ip and a top two seed for next week’s PAC Final Four.

Leeza Galli rounded out the Phoenixvil­le scoring, with Dakota Graham and Kaitlyn Casiano getting credit for assists. Hannah Sands needed to make just two saves to get the shutout. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 1, METH ACT ON

0>> Allison Cappelli’s second-half goal proved enough for the Vikings to secure the PAC victory over the Warriors on Oct. 12.

Cappelli was assisted on her tally at the 12:52 mark by Sarah Westgate. Leslie Adams made the lead stand up with three-save goaltendin­g while Methacton’s Liz Greene stopped seven shots at the Methacton nets. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 8, NORRIS

TOWN 0 >> Hannah Thomas had a hat trick with one assist, and Abbie Verbeke figured in on four goals the Vikings scored as they rolled up a big PAC victory on the Eagles on Oct. 11.

Verbeke scored goals in each half while getting credit for two assists. PV’s other points came from Samantha Perry, Sophie Haas and Sydney Marasco, with Norristown getting five-save goaltendin­g from Rosalia Serna and Ashley Schools.

Girls tennis

UPPER DUBLIN 3, SPRING-FORD 2 >> The Cardinals used a sweep in the doubles bracket to secure a District 1 Team Tournament win over the Rams.

Annabelle Laughlin/Belinda Jim posted a 6-2, 6-0 decision at first doubles. Spring-Ford’s Kathryn Alvarez took a win at second doubles, where she beat Erin Hackett 6-2, 6-0.

Girls volleyball

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 3, PHOENIX

VILLE 0 >> Sarah Straub posted a team-high 10 kills en route to the Vikings’ PAC victory over the Phantoms in straight sets on Oct. 13.

Set scores were 25-10, 25-17 and 25-22. Straub also had four digs and three aces while Lia Torrillo had seven kills in the win.
