NORRISTOWN >> With 37 percent of voting districts in Montgomery County reporting unofficial election results as of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Republican Michael Corr of Perkiomen Valley was projected to prevail over Democrat Linda Weaver to become the next state representative of Pennsylvania’s 150th House District.

The unofficial early results, showed Corr ahead 55 percent to 45 percent with 7,821 ballots cast, according to the Pennsylvania state website.

Corr, an attorney and certified public accountant from Perkiomen Valley is a senior manager for Vanguard’s Education Savings Group. His campaign also highlighted fiscal responsibly, targeting wasteful spending in Harrisburg.

With the victory, Corr will assume the seat formerly held by Republican Mike Vereb, who declined to run for reelection.

Weaver, an educator from Royersford is a founding member of the Bucks and Montgomery County Schools Health Care Consortium, a group that aids area teachers in acquiring health care plans.

She ran on a platform of fiscal responsibility, full funding of education and tax reform. Weaver is also a proponent of an extraction tax for natural gas drillers.

The 150th district consists of approximately 72,000 residents in Collegeville, Lower Providence Township, Skippack, and parts of Upper Providence and West Norriton townships

“I felt really good about our campaign,” said Corr before the election results came in. “I think my team and I worked very hard to get our message out to the voters of the 150th District. I we conveyed a strong message that allowed voters to make a clear choice in this election... I think we did a great job fighting for our principles.”
