Soccer

The Coventry FC Barca U14 soccer team recently claimed the Delco Soccer League Division 3 title after winning both a play-in game and championship game on the same day. Coventry impressively jumped out to a 2-0 lead, then found themselves locked in a 2-2 tie at halftime of the morning playoff against Kirkwood Soccer Club. Displaying the resilience that has characterized the team throughout their season, Coventry scored late in the contest to earn a 3-2 victory and advance to the championship round. Hours later, the boys from Coventry traveled to Southern Ches- ter County, where they outworked the previously undefeated Dragons on their home turf and emerged with an exciting 2-0 win to claim the league crown.

The rewarding league title capped off a season’s worth of hard-fought matches and adversity, and their consistently determined effort resulted in a well-earned final record of 7 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses for the Coventry FC Barca squad.
