Adult writers of fiction invited to attend twice monthly meetings of the Phoenix Fiction Writers at the library. Free. Group meets second Thursday and third Tuesday of each month from 6:30to 9 p.m. in the library’s Harrop Room. Led by Eric Parmer, offering local writers education, empowermen­t and constructi­ve criticism. Writers ask questions about the writing process, read work out loud and receive/offer input on material read. Writers wishing to have their work critiqued should submit to Eric before each meeting. Phoenixvil­le Public Library will host an evening with Charles Kiernan, storytelle­r, and the Druckenmil­lers, players of old-time music, on Monday, Dec.12 at 7 p.m. Appalachia has been a place where the old arts of singing and storytelli­ng have been preserved for many decades. Following in that tradition, the Druckenmil­lers and Charles Kiernan have teamed up to present a show of mountain music and stories that will capture your imaginatio­n and tickle your fancy . IT Profession­al Ernie Tidball is the instructor. The class schedule is as follows: Dec. 3 (Excel Advanced). *Student must bring own laptop. Class time is 10a.m. to noon in the Library’s Community Education Room. Cost for each class is $5per person, payable at class time. Students should bring a USB drive if they wish to save their work and may bring their own laptops. Basic knowledge of computers and the ability to use a keyboard and mouse are required. Phoenixvil­le Public Library’s book club for millennial­s, will meet Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 7:30p.m. at Iron Hill Brewery, 130Bridge St., Phoenixvil­le, to discuss Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Ready Player One takes place in the not-so-distant future--the world has turned into a very bleak place, but luckily there is OASIS, a virtual reality world that is a vast online utopia. People can plug into OASIS to play, go to school, earn money, and even meet other people (or at least they can meet their avatars), and for protagonis­t Wade Watts it certainly beats passing the time in his grim, povertystr­icken real life. A copy of the book may be reserved at the Library or at www. ccls.org. This event is free and open to the public. Reservatio­ns not required. During the Christmas holiday break, students and anyone needing a refresher of basic algebra or calculus are invited to free, two-hour review sessions at Phoenixvil­le Public Library. Area events

Perkiomen Township Fire Company will be selling Douglas and Fraser Fir Christmas Trees. They will also be selling tree stands and will do STAND STRAIT TREE DRILLING. The trees will be sold on the Fire Company lot at Route 29 & Trappe Road. Hours of operation are Monday, Thursday, Friday from 6 to 8p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..

Faith Bible Fellowship Church, Bridge Street and Pennhurst Road, Spring City, will host a live outdoor nativity from 7 to 8:30p.m. on Dec. 18. The skit will be presented every 15minutes. There will be live animals which children may pet. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served indoors. The event is free and open to the community.
