SPRING-FORD 59, COUNCIL

ROCK NORTH 49 >> The Rams blew the top off their non-conference game against the Indians with a 10-point fourthquar­ter advantage to seal the win on Dec. 27.

Tied up at 37-all after the third, Spring-Ford outscored its guests 22-12 during the final eight minutes. Noah Baker finished with 13 points — scoring nine during the fourth quarter — while Nestor Diaz echoed Baker with another 13 and a pair of 3-pointers. Ryan Fitzpatric­k came up with 12 points including three 3-pointers. Matt McAlister led North with 13 points while Noah Ehlin had 11.

Girls basketball

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 58, LOWER

MERION49>> The Vikings rode a big early offensive outburst to an eventual non-league victory over the Aces on Dec. 27.

PV put 24 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter and led the game at halftime by 30 to 17. Lower Merion came out fighting in the second half, closing to within two points.

The Vikes’ Megan Jonassen went 13-for-19 from the free throw line and was the game’s leading scorer with 21 points. Alex Blomstrom shot four 3-point baskets and went 4-for-4 fromthe charity stripe for 16 points. PHOENIXVIL­LE 47, OCTORARA

15 >> Jess Anthony led the Phantoms’ balanced offense as they rolled over host Octorara in its tournament consolatio­n game on Dec. 27.

Anthony’s nine-point outing, good for game-scoring honors, headed teammates Peyton Graham (eight), Jasmin Hamilton (seven), Ameerah Green (six) and Dakota Graham (five). With an 18-point third quarter, Phoenixvil­le expanded its initial 17-6 lead to a sizeable 35-11. COL LEG I UM CHARTER 40, PHOENIX VILLE 33>> Collegium’s big third quarter carried it to a win over the Phantoms on the opening day of the Octorara holiday tournament on Dec. 26.

Kiana Brown’s 12 points topped Collegium, which turned a 15-13 halftime lead into a 30-20 lead at the end of three. Peyton Graham led Phoenixvil­le with 11. Dakota Graham and Amanda Fields scored seven apiece.

Indoor track and field

The Spring-Ford indoor track and field team competed in the Robert. J. Burdette Indoor Classic at Lehigh University.

The girls’ distance medley relay team of Emily Smith, Jenna Darlington, Gabriella Bamford and Isabella Marchini placed second in 11:03.60 to lead the Rams’ performers.

Fourth-place finishes were turned in by Devin Rawley (triple jump, 34-0½) and the 4x800 relay team of Julia Vledder, Sydney Galster, Rachel Moyer and Meaghan Richter (10:39.04).

The boys’ distance medley relay of Jacob McKenna, Stephen Chapman, Patrick Power and Shane Ainscoe finished fifth in 11:33.88; Chad Smiley was sixth in the pole vault with a 13-6.

Wrestling

GLEN MILLS 57, PHOENIXVIL­LE 18 >> The Phantoms were done in by four forfeits and the Bulls’ flurry of pins in their non-league match.

Tanner Romance’s firstperio­d fall at 195 staked Phoenixvil­le to a 9-6 lead that proved to be its last one of the afternoon. The remainder of the Phantoms’ points came from decisions by Thomas Fell (170) and Michael Wallence (152) and GM’s forfeit of 113 to Bobby Krause. MANHEIM CENTRAL TOUR

NAMENT >> Bryce Reddington wasted no time moving onto the area’s career-win chart during Methacton’s visit to the Manheim Holiday Tournament.

The Warrior senior reached the 100-win mark in the quarterfin­al round of the tourney. He opened in the 152-pound bracket with a 3:20 pin of Manheim Central’s Connor Miller, becoming the 11th wrestler in program history to achieve that feat.

It was part of a pin-fueled sweep by Reddington, whose other falls came against Souderton’s Craig Finkenbein­er (3:00) and Shikellamy’s Dominic Parker (2:52).

Reddington was one of four Methacton grapplers to qualify for gold-medal matches, joined by Corey Morabito (106), Kibwe McNair (120) and Dylan Henry (138). Morabito placed second, as did McNair and Henry. Michael Blakemore was third at 160 while teammates Brendan Marion (170) and Tonee Ellis (285) placed fourth at their respective weights.

Bolstered by the fifthplace showings of Salaam McNair (182) and Joe Donahue (220), the Warriors finished first in the 14-school standings with 160.5 points.

Spring-Ford had two championsh­ip finalists in Brandon Meredith (113) and Matt Lepore (285). Meredith claimed gold with an 11-5 decision of Shikellamy’s Cade Balestrini, and Lepore placed second.

Mike Gradwell came away fourth at 160, helping the Rams to a sixth-place (113.5 points) team finish. Quinn Tobin (106) and Ben D’Archangelo (152) scored fifths, with Jack Files (170 and Chase Smith (182) sixth.
