It has be- come clear tome that sharing musicwithkids is perhaps the most important thing we can do to keep music alive. With the continued cuts in budgets for arts in schools, sparking the interest in music falls on everyone that can play an instrument. Steve Walker and Michael Kropp have very cool kid friendly programs. Stephanie Grace takes hermusic to many of the local elementary and middle schools and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the ever smiling Matt Bailey engage a group of kids for over an hour at Turning Leaf Fall Festival, for no other reason than that they were there, digging the music. PLEASE take a minute to show a kid that music is fun, it literally could change a life. So now, just one last time, before I fade back into obscurity, I’d like to tell you to: Practice a little harder, play a little louder and love a little more. This is WTIM signing off.
