Fun with hands-on science activities
Second-grade students at Schwenksville Elementary School explored the motion of spheres. They rolled marbles in cups and down runways to observe spheres as rollers and they worked with flexible runways to make the rolling marbles do tricks. The students then had the wonderful opportunity to use tubes to create roller coasters for the marbles. Students were tasked with figuring out how to get a marble to go through the tubes and land in a cup. After several practice runs, the students worked as an entire team to create one giant roller coaster for the marbles.
