Adult writers of fiction invited to attend twice monthly meetings of the Phoenix Fiction Writers at the library. Free. Group meets second Thursday and third Tuesday of each month from 6:30to 9p.m. in the library’s Harrop Room. Led by Eric Parmer, offering local writers education, empowerment and constructive criticism. Writers ask questions about the writing process, read work out loud and receive/offer input on material read. Free and open to public. A free legal clinic will be offered at Phoenixville Public Library on the first Thursday of the month from 5to 7:30p.m. Ian J. Michener, Esq. of Rick Linn, LLC offers this Phoenixville Legal Outreach Clinic, providing information, counseling, and advocacy in various areas of law, including family law, trusts & estates, criminal defense, landlord-tenant law, and legal issues facing small businesses. Attendees receive a free 20-minute consultation with an attorney, who will provide counseling and access to legal resources as needed. Consultations are provided on a first-come, first served basis. Learn what “movie magic” really means on this docent-led tour that will showcase the theatre’s vintage décor and demystify the cutting-edge technology that makes the theatre home to today’s complex cinematic and stage productions. St. John’s Lutheran Church, 355St. John’s Circle, Phoenixville, PA invites singers to join in the annual “St. John’s Choir & Friends” concert on Sunday, May 7, at 7p.m. Performed will be “Requiem for the Living” by Dan Forrest. This stunning new requiem, composed in 20122013will be accompanied by the Providence Chamber Orchestra joined by Janet Witman, harp. The performance will be conducted by F. Thomas Snyder, III, Director of Music at St. John’s. Rehearsals are scheduled at St. John’s on Sundays March 26, April 2, 9, 23, and 30from 7to 9p.m.; and Sunday May 7, from 3to 5:30p.m. A light supper will follow the May 7rehearsal. Composer and pianist Catherine Marie Charlton will speak at the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Collegeville, Sunday, March 26, at 10:30a.m., on “Wyeth Walks: Spiritual Transformation through Nature.” For the past several years, Charlton studied the art and creative philosophies of the Wyeth family. Steinway artist Charlton has recorded a dozen albums and is recognized as a stellar performer of improvisational music. She is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Mill Creek, Delaware and speaks there regularly and throughout the region. Elaina’s Custom Framing and Fine Art Gallery will be the exhibiting spot for a three artists’ showing of original contemporary works.
