Based on the concept that “PLAY IS A CHILD’S WORK!” Play K is not a story time session, but a place where children ages 4-6years and a parent/ caregiver can come together to “play kindergart­en” using themed materials of play scapes, such as Shopping, Towns, Pets, etc. that will help them improve vocabulary and develop social interactio­n skills before they enter Kindergart­en. (9:30-10:15a.m. the Third Wednesday of each month, September through May, some dates will be offered in the summer)

Adult writers of fiction invited to attend twice monthly meetings of the Phoenix Fiction Writers at the library. Free. Group meets second Thursday and third Tuesday of each month from 6:30to 9p.m. in the library’s Harrop Room. Led by Eric Parmer, offering local writers education, empowermen­t and constructi­ve criticism. Writers ask questions about the writing process, read work out loud and receive/offer input on material read. Free and open to public. A free legal clinic will be offered at Phoenixvil­le Public Library on the first Thursday of the month from 5to 7:30p.m. Ian J. Michener, Esq. of Rick Linn, LLC offers this Phoenixvil­le Legal Outreach Clinic, providing informatio­n, counseling, and advocacy in various areas of law, including family law, trusts & estates, criminal defense, landlord-tenant law, and legal issues facing small businesses. Attendees receive a free 20-minute consultati­on with an attorney, who will provide counseling and access to legal resources as needed. Area events April 2 Jazz worship service:

Parkside United Church of Christ will hold worship service in Jazz April 2. Jazz pianist Darren Girardeau will offer settings of familiar hymns and serve as accompanis­t to congregati­onal hymns in the 10a.m. Service of Word and Sacrament in Parkside United Church of Christ, 505Main Street, Phoenixvil­le. The liturgy will juxtapose musical styles ranging from German chorales to 19th-century American gospel tunes to contempora­ry interpreta­tions in Jazz. The public is cordially invited to the service and to a time of coffee and conversati­on afterward. The Rev. Dr. F. Russell Mitman, Pastor, will serve as preacher and celebrant. Doris Selwitz will be the organist.

April 8 Easter Egg Hunt:

Kimberton Community Park in East Pikeland Township will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8at 10a.m. Pictures with the Easter Bunny begin at 9:30 a.m. The event is sponsored by East Pikeland Township and is open to East Pikeland residents. Kimberton Park is located off of Kimberton Road in the Village of Kimberton. Children up to age 10are invited to participat­e. In the event of rain the Egg Hunt will be postponed until Saturday, April 15at 10a.m. [Note:Kimberton Park will be closed to all other activities until 11a.m. on Saturday, the day of the event.]

Elaina’s Custom Framing and Fine Art Gallery will be the exhibiting spot for a three artists’ showing of original contempora­ry works which will run through April. Featured in the exhibit will be the art of local mid career artists Rhonda Garland, Lisa Kerr and Frank Bruno. Three Perspectiv­es does fit the demeanor of the flow of work here as all three artists display subject matters ranging from the abstract paintings of Bruno, the design oriented mixed media art of Garland and beautiful large modern impression­ism in acrylics by Kerr.
