While plenty were just recovering from the PIAA Swimming Championships at Bucknell University which concluded last month, Emma Seiberlich had plenty of time to rest.

Swimming as part of the Phoenixville YMCA team during the PA State Championships at Penn StateUniversity, she looked plenty rested following February’s Eastern Scholastic Swimming Championships.

Seiberlich, a senior at Episcopal Academy and a University of Virginia commit, picked up a pair of goldmedals by the time the waves settled and the deckswere cleared for the weekend.

She broke her old meet record with a 1:56.90 in the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall at 1:56.90. Her old record set in 2015 stood at 1:59.24. She took first in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:00.56 — good enough for over four seconds off her qualifying time.

Seiberlich also picked up a bronze medal in the 100 backstroke, finishing up at 55.02, which would have been another meet record had it not been for Butler’s Camryn Forbes (54.50) and Reading’s Cameron Gring (54.95) ahead of her.

With Sieberlich swimming the first leg, Phoenixville took third in the 200 medley relay. The contingent — which also included

Erin Merke, Morgan Hansen and Olivia Giampietro — finished up at 1:46.25.

Hansen and Giampietro each picked up an individual silver medal.

Hansen, an Owen J. Roberts senior fresh off winning a medal at the PIAA Championships, took second place in the 100 fly with a time of 56.54. She cut plenty off her seed time of 59.04 and finished right on the heels of Reading’s Cameron Gring.

Giampietro took second in the 200 fly, touching the wall at 2:10.20. She also took third- and fourth-place finishes in the 50 free (24.49) and the 100 fly (57.89).

Kira Buchler picked up a bronze medal in the 200 back where she posted a 2:04.13, cutting over eight seconds off her qualifying time. She also took fourth in the 100 back (57.66).

Merke finished fourth in the 200 IM with a 2:10.84— almost five seconds off her qualifying time of 2:15.32.

On the boys side, Tommy Noone finished fourth in the 500 free with a time of 4:46.91. He cut almost five seconds off his seed time.

Ethan Hinz finished fifth in the 200 fly with a 2:02.73, cutting a full second off his seed time.
