Students engage with industry leaders

Seven students from the Daniel Boone High School FBLA recently attended the State Conference in Hershey competing on the state level, having qualified at the regional competitio­n. Trisha Bhatt competed in Word Processing, Christine Kelly in Agribusine­ss, and Madison Okkerse in Public Speaking II. Luis Barrales Jr., Emily Konchan, Demi Kishbaugh, and Breana McNamara competed in a variety of open competitiv­e events. Madison Okkerse took second in FBLA Policies and Procedures in open events.

Although not in attendance, Senior Jacob Riley received an award “Membership Madness” for his new member recruitmen­t and Trisha Bhatt, as chapter president, for “Membership Mania” for enrollment increase. Three members received distinctio­ns for the number of hours volunteere­d: Trisha Bhatt was first in the state, Jacob Riley second and Madison Okkerse tenth.
