Police investigat­e cat killed by arrow.

UPPER PROVIDENCE » Police are investigat­ing after a cat was found dead after being shot with an arrow.

Upper Providence Police told Digital First Media Thursday that they are investigat­ing the incident after the cat was found in a field on June 10 behind the Spring Ford 9th grade center.

According to the Pet Reunion Project of Philadelph­ia, the cat was an orange tabby and had been a local family’s pet.

“The family is devastated and wants to make sure nobody else suffers the loss of a family member by whoever may be out there taking aim at local animals. Please exercise precaution when letting your pets outside, and keep an eye on them to help keep them safe,” read the group’s post.

Police have not yet identified the person who shot the arrow and are continuing to investigat­e. Anyone with informatio­n on the incident is asked to contact Officer Sean Franchini with Upper Providence Police at 610933-7899.
