‘We share their pain’

About 300 mourners — friends and supporters — stood sideby-side in the back yard of her home to recognize the loss of 18-year-old Bianca Nikol Roberson, who was killed in Wednesday’s road rage shooting.

Many held candles as their eyes glowed with tears on a sultry Friday evening. Even when addressing the mourners as a group, family and friends spoke in hushed tones.

The near silence was broken by Vicky Clark. She gently and lovingly sang a hymn moments after dusk fell.

Susan Gray is a teacher in the West Chester Area School District and although she did not personally know Roberson, she held a candle.

“I’m here just for support, to let them know that we share their pain as a parent,” Gray said.

Gray said she has a daughter a year older than Roberson and a son who is a year younger. She is always warning her children of the “craziness

of the drivers out there.”

Neighbor Sean Endrey also held a candle.

“It’s important for us to not only show support but show she lives on,” he said. “It’s good for us, but

the purpose is to show our support and connection to her no matter how big or small.”

This was the second child the Roberson family has lost.

“Knowing what they’re going through, not once but twice,” lamented family friend Steve Lyons.

Father Rodney Roberson told the group that everyone knows his daughter was not a bad person.

“We hope this guy is caught to bring justice for our daughter,” he said. “It touches our hearts that you all came out to support our daughter.”

Bianca Roberson was shot to death while driving on Route 100 Wednesday in what authorities described as a road rage incident.

Authorities have released a sketch of the man believed to have fired the fatal shot at Roberson. He fled in a red pickup truck.
