Michener, Esq. of Rick Linn, LLC offers this Phoenixville Legal Outreach Clinic, providing information, counseling, and advocacy in various areas of law, including family law, trusts & estates, criminal defense, landlord-tenant law, and legal issues facing small businesses. Attendees receive a free 20-minute consultation with an attorney, who will provide counseling and access to legal resources as needed. Consultations are provided on a first-come, first served basis. Classic Films at The Colonial: “War of the Worlds” (1953) Sunday, July 30, at 2p.m. Produced by sci-fi film favorite George Pal (When Worlds Collide, The Time Machine), this adaption of H. G. National Night Out: Phoenixville Town Watch will participate in the annual National Night Out campaign Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 6to 8:30p.m. at Grace Crossing Community Church, 248Church St., Phoenixville. National Night Out is an annual communitybuilding event that is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for participation in local anticrime programs and strengthen neighborhood spirit and policecommunity partnerships. This campaign is designed to unite, educate and inspire neighbors to take an active role in creating safe communities. Members of the Phoenixville Police and Fire Departments, Trappe Ambulance, PA National Guard, Friendship Fire Company DivingRescue Unit, Chester County Station 77will be in attendance along with representatives from the Chester County Sheriff’s Department. The event will feature live music from local bands Who Need Nigel?, Karn Evil Four and Smoke and Mirrors. Crafts, face painting and games for kids will entertain younger attendees, while local organizations will host exhibits to provide information on a variety of services. In the Good Old Summertime: Come to Pennypacker Mills Saturday, Aug. 5, from 11a.m. to 3p.m. as this historic site presents a free summertime event reminiscent of the early 1900s. Try on Victorian clothing and pose for a photograph. Visit the 1900s History Center where the General Store will be open for business. Kids can shop using 1900s era pricing and discover what was available to purchase back then. See other exhibits and hop on our horse and buggy for a photo op. The whole family can also play lawn games and enjoy the rockers on the porch. Visit the Delaware Valley Classic MG Car Club Show where a wide variety of British vintage cars will be on display. Farm, Home and Youth Fair: The Farm, Home and Youth Fair is coming Aug. 10, 11and 12to the Montgomery County 4-H Center, 1015Bridge Road, Collegeville. The fair will celebrate the culmination of the 4-H project year for Montgomery County 4-H members. This is the 4-H members’ opportunity to show their families, friends and the public their achievements throughout the year. The livestock and animal science 4-H members will have their animals on display. Other 4-H clubs also will have their projects on display and will be on hand to promote 4-H and their clubs. The Creamery Crafters Club will hold its Fabric Sale. In addition to the 4-H projects, there will be demonstrations, contests, games, music, an Open Pet Show and food, including the world’s largest sausage patty. On Friday morning, Sound Sensations DJs will provide children’s entertainment. The Daisy Jug Band will perform Friday evening. The horse clubs will offer pony rides and a horse show Friday evening. Farm volunteers will run hayrides all three days. On Saturday afternoon, the Market Animal Sale will be held. There will also be open class exhibits, which anyone from the community can enter. Country Fair and Antique Tractor Show: Vincent Mennonite Church, 39Seven Stars Road, Spring City, will hold its 32nd annual Country Fair and Antique Tractor Show including a chicken barbecue Saturday, Aug. 26, from 9a.m. to 5p.m. rain or shine. Admission and parking are free. There will be an antique tractor show and parade with hit and miss engines, toy tractors and antique cars, craft tables, Vincent Youth lunch stand, children/family activities (including magician and moon bounce) and gospel bluegrass music by The Horst Brothers. Craft Marketplace: The Friends of Pennypacker Mills, a 501(c) (3) corporation that raises funds to support the Pennypacker Mills historical site located at 5Haldeman Road in Schwenksville, will hold its sixth annual Craft Marketplace Saturday, Sept. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 3p.m.on the grounds of the Mills. The Craft Marketplace is expecting 70-plus skilled craftsmen. Handcrafted items iwill nclude scrollsaw art and ornaments with an ongoing demonstration; woolen wares made of angora, alpaca and llamas (and the bunnies will be there, too); repurposed wine corks and bottles; digital art; stained glass; sterling and gemstone jewelry; beaded jewelry; metal sculpture and jewelry; baby items; repurposed wood items; fabric crafts; jams and jellies; Amish furniture and bird houses from antique local barns; soaps and more.
