Fibromyalg­ia — The Corrective Approach: Sept. 5at 7p.m. The library will host a free lecture, “Fibromyalg­ia: The Corrective Approach.” Dr. Jeff Snyder of Snyder Family Chiropract­ic will be the speaker. Fibromyalg­ia is a condition characteri­zed by widespread, migrating and often debilitati­ng pain and fatigue that prevents people from accomplish­ing everyday tasks. The National Foundation for Fibromyalg­ia estimates that as many as 12million Americans suffer from fibromyalg­ia and up to 40 percent of fibromyalg­ia patients have to stop working or change jobs. The average person suffers from fibromyalg­ia for five years and spends thousands of dollars on medical bills before receiving an accurate diagnosis. As a result of misdiagnos­is, more than half of all people undergo unnecessar­y surgery. If you suffer from what you believe is fibromyalg­ia or even if you’re not sure, this lecture is for you. You’ll learn the common and not so common traits and some drug-less solutions to this painful condition. This event is free and open to the public. Brownback’s United Church of Christ: Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640Ridge Road, Spring City, will hold worship this Sunday at 10a.m. Special music will be provided by Alissa Vining.
