Three borough police officers moved up in rank during a promotion ceremony during the Tuesday, Aug. 8, borough council meeting.

Nick Natale was promoted to corporal. He has been with the department since 2008, after starting his career in 1999 with the SEPTA police department in Philadelphia.

A member of the bike patrol, Natale was assigned to the detective bureau since 2013, where he will continue to work.

Bryan MacIntyre, who has been with the department since 2007, was promoted to the rank of sergeant.

In 2001, MacIntyre was promoted to corporal and serves as a field training officer and accident scene reconstructionist. He will assume command of the third platoon.

Brian Marshall began his law enforcement career with the Phoenixville police in 1987 as a part-time office. Tuesday night, he was promoted to lieutenant.

Marshall was hired full-time in 1988, was promoted to corporal in 1998 and to sergeant in 2001. He was the department’s first school resource officer and spent several years assigned to Phoenixville High School.

Prior to his most recent promotion, Marshall served as administrative sergeant and was

instrumental in the department receiving accreditation through the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.

Marshall has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and amaster’s in public safety administration, both fromSt. Joseph’s University.

The promotions come a little more than a year after council voted to hire its 30th police officer, and six months after former lieutenant Thomas Sjostrom was promoted to police chief, replacing former chief William Mossman, who retired.
