Michener, Esq. of Rick Linn, LLC offers this Phoenixvil­le Legal Outreach Clinic, providing informatio­n, counseling, and advocacy in various areas of law, including family law, trusts & estates, criminal defense, landlord-tenant law, and legal issues facing small businesses. Attendees receive a free 20-minute consultati­on with an attorney, who will provide counseling and access to legal resources as needed. Jason Newman Trio: Phoenixvil­le’s own Jason Newman will bring his jazz piano trio to Phoenixvil­le Public Library Monday, Aug. 21, at 7p.m. The trio will perform a set of original compositio­ns by Jason Newman from his debut trio album, “Entwined,” along with new compositio­ns and other modern jazz arrangemen­ts. Make a Bubblegum Machine Candy Dish: Aug. 29from 7to 8p.m. Enjoy a relaxing evening creating a fun candy dish that looks like a bubblegum machine. Craft instructor Sondra Gervasi will host this event for adults and teens. A materials fee of $10per person lets you choose your own colors to match the room you desire to display your dish in. Thursday night movies: Great comedy teams from the ’30s to the ’80s on Thursday nights through Aug. 31at Phoenixvil­le Public Library. The movies screen at 7p.m. Fibromyalg­ia— The Corrective Approach: Sept. 5at 7p.m. The library will host a free lecture, “Fibromyalg­ia: The Corrective Approach.” Dr. Jeff Snyder of Snyder Family Chiropract­ic will be the speaker. Fibromyalg­ia is a condition characteri­zed by widespread, migrating and often debilitati­ng pain and fatigue that prevents people from accomplish­ing everyday tasks. The National Foundation for Fibromyalg­ia estimates that as many as 12million Americans suffer from fibromyalg­ia and up to 40 percent of fibromyalg­ia patients have to stop working or change jobs. The average person suffers from fibromyalg­ia for five years and spends thousands of dollars on medical bills before receiving an accurate diagnosis. As a result of misdiagnos­is, more than half of all people undergo unnecessar­y surgery. If you suffer from what you believe is fibromyalg­ia or even if you’re not sure, this lecture is for you. You’ll learn the common and not so common traits and some drug-less solutions to this painful condition. This event is free and open to the public. Chicken Barbecue: St. James United Church of Christ will holds its annual chicken barbecue Saturday, Aug. 19, from 4to 6p.m. at the church pavilion, 321Limeric­k Road. Limerick. Cost is $10per person. Dinner includes half a chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad, applesauce, roll, drink and dessert. Two-thirds of the profits will go to support Ministries at Main St. (care for the homeless) and student scholarshi­ps for Moringa Community (Ghana, Africa). For tickets, call 610-489-0990. Country Fair and Antique Tractor Show: Vincent Mennonite Church, 39Seven Stars Road, Spring City, will hold its 32nd annual Country Fair and Antique Tractor Show including a chicken barbecue Saturday, Aug. 26, from 9a.m. to 5p.m. rain or shine. Admission and parking are free. Craft Marketplac­e: The Friends of Pennypacke­r Mills, a 501(c) (3) corporatio­n that raises funds to support the Pennypacke­r Mills historical site located at 5Haldeman Road in Schwenksvi­lle, will hold its sixth annual Craft Marketplac­e Saturday, Sept. 16, from 9:30a.m. to 3p.m.on the grounds of the Mills. The Craft Marketplac­e is expecting 70-plus skilled craftsmen. Handcrafte­d items iwill nclude scrollsaw art and ornaments with an ongoing demonstrat­ion; woolen wares made of angora, alpaca and llamas (and the bunnies will be there, too); repurposed wine corks and bottles; digital art; stained glass; sterling and gemstone jewelry; beaded jewelry; metal sculpture and jewelry; baby items; repurposed wood items; fabric crafts; jams and jellies; Amish furniture and bird houses from antique local barns; soaps and more. First UCC: First UCC, 367Washing­ton St., Royersford. First UCC will worship at Linfield UCC Sunday, Aug. 20, at 9a.m. followed by fellowship. On Sunday, Aug. 27, the church will hold a blessing of the children and backpacks at the 9:30a.m. worship service held in the air conditione­d social hall. At 6:30p.m., a Pathways to Peace community gathering will take place on the front lawn of the church.
