St. Teresa of Calcutta festival
A popular community festival returned to St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish Wednesday night offering a perfect way to say goodbye to summer.
The ninth annual church festival at Swamp Pike and Neiffer Road and runs nightly through Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m.
Families enjoyed corridors of amusement rides and games during the first night of the event including a bungee jump and rock wall by Bruster’s of Limerick, live music, children’s games, adult games of chance, pony rides, balloon art, bingo, bake table, cash raffle with $5,000 grand prize, beer and wine garden, and business expo.
A full menu of homemade Italian, Polish and American foods is available nightly, plus Capt’n Chucky’s seafood.
The festival live music schedule includes (along with DJ Rich Sheldon): Friday, Aug. 25: John Anthony Seitz Band Saturday, Aug. 26: Dibbs Preston & the Detonators.
A specialty bingo will be held at the Festival: Gift Card Bingo on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. (indoor events, rain or shine, doors open at 6 p.m.) Bingo admission is $25 per person for 20 games, plus one bonus game for advance ticket holders. A corn hole tournament will take place on Friday, Aug. 25. $30 fee for each two-person team, maximum of 24 teams. $200 top prize.
