The ballot for Collegeville boasts a full slate of candidates from both parties both for mayor and for four open council seats.

The four Democrats running for council are incumbent Catherine Kernan, Marion McKinney, Matthew McKnight and Shannon Spencer.

The four Republicans running are incumbents Arnold Mann and Rowan Keenan, along with Brian G. Dubas and Brian Freas.

Aisand AceWright-Wriggins is challenging Incumbent Mayor Al Stagliano and he was the only candidate to respond to Digital First Media’s candidate questionnaire.

In his response to the candidate survey, WrightWriggins, 66, wrote that he is running because “after 40 years of national service, I want to dedicate my energies and skills to my own community. I want to promote community and a civil society. I believe that the mayor must represent the community to the council and communicate borough issues to the community. I know that I can do a better job of that than the incumbent.”

CEO of a national not-forprofit organization for 25 years and a book publisher for 12, Wright-Wriggins wrote that he has also been a civil and human rights organizer for 20 years, holds a doctorate and is an ordained minister.

“The most important goal is the creation of partnerships, between the Collegeville borough and other municipalities; between the borough and Ursinus College; between the borough and the business community and between civic and community organizations and the borough,” WrightWriggins wrote.

Election Day was Tuesday, Nov. 7.
