Hope for patients who suffer from Parkinson’s, stroke, brain injury, movement disorders
Mishock Physical Therapy & Associates now offers LSVT BIG, a research-based program for those patients who suffer with Parkinson’s disease, stroke, brain injury and other movement disorders.
LSVT BIG is a researchbased exercise program that has documented improved ratings on tests of motor functioning in people with Parkinson’s disease and empowers their potential to improve! This programis available in our Barto and Stowe clinics. LSVT BIG treatment:
• Trains the patient using bigger movements, which translates into real world, every day activities;
• Teaches the amount of effort required to produce normal movements;
• Improves brain function in patients who suffer from Parkinson’s disease; and
• Can also be helpful for people with other neurological conditions such as stroke and brain injury.

Our director of the Stowe clinic, Ann R. Miller, DPT, has been LSVT BIG certified since October and has been encouraged with the success of this program.

Following Vince’s fourweek session with the LSVT BIG program in our Stowe clinic, his neurologist, Dr. Donald McCarren, of Neurologic Health Associates, PC, in Collegeville, had this to say: “The patient [Vince] showed marked improvement in gait, balance and fluidity of movement.”
